Looks like it's a big problem on either side of the Atlantic. permalink fedilink source hideshow 9 child comments replies: [–] AlteredEgo@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (7 children) I mean UK police carry no firearm and are held to much higher standards. And the driver of the atv literally ran someone over and didn't stop. What kind of police DO you want to have? You can argue for revolution and civil war in the UK because of fascist politics from both labor and tories, but then you're talking about armed soldiers not police. EDIT: Sorry didn't see post I was replying to was talking about the bikers not the cops (edit?) permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 7 child comments replies: [–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago* (3 children) “Labor” sic That’s not the British spelling - are you an outsider looking in, sharing your perspective? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] systemglitch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (2 children) Lol, fucking Americans. And you either want to live in a civilized society or not. So on the one hand UK police are pretty great as far as police go, and absolutely have the right to stop motorized traffic for being "annoying" in a residential street. You absolutely do want to police shit like this. These are just bourgeois kids doing stupid dangerous stuff. On the other hand there is the political stuff and increasing illegitimacy of the UK government. But I see nothing political here. Seriously, what am I supposed to be upset about here? Traffic stops? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] Test_Tickles@lemmy.world 1 point 1 week ago Kids? 27yrs old with prior convictions? permalink fedilink source parent [–] x00z@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago That doesn't justify trying to get them to crash and hurt themselves. permalink fedilink source parent
