Future weather is predicted by statistical analysis (so far as I understood it). Won't the underlying database become more and more worthless in the changing climate?

No, because forecasts take what is currently happening and making a guess based on a probability about what can happen.

Anything beyond 3 days is unreliable

    That probability is based on previous events and climate. Because of climate change, it's much harder to guess, since the weather is likely to do something different than it used to.

    Even the short term weather forecasts have been rubbish here this summer.
