someone really needs to make an activitypub-based dating platform, it shouldn't be that much work since it's basically mastodon with a different UI..

    How do you make sure that images are not stolen and used to create fake profiles elsewhere?

    How do you keep preferences private if everybody can start a server and get all data?

    You don't and accept it for what it is.

    Fake profiles from genai or stolen images can be dealt with a video call before the first date.

    Keeping preferences private can only be done by keeping the real names out of the database.

    You stay safe by keeping the first dates to public spaces or double dating with a friend.
