About a month ago, I posted my best time on a 3x3 Rubik’s Cube (1:23.033). After learning a new opening technique, and lots of practice, I am proud to say my new best time is now 1:09.825!!

The image are my times tonight. I started at 1:16.428, and I hit some tough solves before finishing at my new best. I never imagined I’d be this close to 1:00.

But that’s for another day. I’m ending my night on a high note. Good night, Fediverse.

Do we have a cubing community in Lemmy? Would we like to start one?

What's that opening technique, btw?

I used to do what’s called the daisy first, but then my son taught me to solve the white edges directly.

Good! Next, find a F2L video tutorial somewhere. That's placing the corners of the first layer together with the 2nd layer edges above them. Even if you don't do F2L on purpose, it's super cool when you recognize an easy-to-solve pair and save something like 10 moves.
