    Vim: quick and easy

    Emacs: properly decent programming language in the configs, supports Vim bindings via Evil, Org-mode as the ultimate notes app

    Arguably they're sort of converging with all the nvim stuff out there. I said vi to be cute but I actually use LazyVim

    I use Doom Emacs, so we're both in glass houses here. I love Lua because it's fast as fuck, but it's militantly imperative, which is a big bummer. In comparison, Lisp still has a lot to teach a novice-ish programmer. Fennel is the best of both worlds, I guess.
