It's what Parenti would call an unfalsifiable orthodoxy. If you go around saying all pedophiles should be shot people will either agree with you or say "hey maybe chill out." And then you can just call that second group pedo sympathizers. You win either way. It's the most secure non-position you can possibly take while simultaneously signaling political allegiance.

Most of the time when people are talking about pedophiles as if pedophiles are a coordinated group you can oppose, people don't mean Epstein and co, they mean queer people.

It is usually literally a case of "I can't stop thinking about it, so that means everyone must be thinking about it!"
