But probably depends strongly on the use case. Iโ€™m talking about walking around with headphones in my ear and phone in my pocket, that exerts a lot of stress/pressure on the jack and where the cable bends. I also had the phone part break twice so far

Or in other words: my headphones connected to my PC basically never break, but on my phone I had to replace them every few months

  • I'm not sure if I ever broke a headphone cable that way but that did happened to the last usb dongle I bought. The times I broke a cable is because they got caught on door knob or something. Also the cable of the headphones I use on my PC for running over it with the chair one too many times, luckily that cable can easily replaced.
