When you think that Ukraine - good and Russia - bad, why do you flag my opinion as the complete opposite one?
I am almost certain, that you and I have a similar stance on the war.
When the war started and I was still in Russia, I was in a group that helped forcefully deported Ukrainians to move to Europe. We provided suitcases, clothing, and even helped with documents. I participated in about 10 of these cases. When I moved from Russia, I was also briefly involved in the help until some incident. After that I participated financially only.
I also think that Putin has started a devastating war, devastating both for Russia and Ukraine. War is the most awful thing that humanity can do. I have no compassion nor justification to the whole governmental apparatus that fuels it.
At the same time, I can't unsee how toxic this war made Ukrainian society and the warfare they perform. I used to have a couple of friends there whom I used to drink and dance and enjoy our short time together, but they hate me for being of "ruzzian blood". I cannot stand the fact that the same people who were outraged by Russian attacks on civil infrastructure, are docile about the fact that Ukraine does the very same.
Of course we all want to live in a reality where one can go back and just don't start the war somehow, but we live in a real world and I'm afraid, we are those who will have to sort out this whole mess that Putin started. And no, this won't be as easy as regime change in Russia.
