You think it's an error, but no.

The second definition is telling you that verboten means something is "forbidden, prohibited". As in, the "something" is forbidden because it is prohibited.

But that first one? "Forbidden; prohibited".

That's where the real first use definition would go...except you are forbidden from knowing what it should be defined as...because it's prohibited. For you.

Simply don't, next time, ok? Or you'll be verboten next.
