    idk if im "gatekeeping" a social media (not sure if you mean lemmy or reddit), im moreso just pointing out the decrepit culture of reddit that is a little bit ingrained in lemmy. idk, i was gonna say something dumber abt giving you a gold or whatever the fuck but thought just being direct would be clearer.

    potentially this is gatekeeping lemmy? if so, id happily do it again. The gross and wholely netpoisoned nature of thinking one story abt a white guy being a fuck ass in a foreign country bringing down the neocolonial tourism wealth that pours in from first world is... childish? idk cant think of a good word.

    just because some people are dumb enough to risk places with draconian laws doesn't mean doing this shit doesn't hurt your tourism, especially in related time windows (you wanna bet this event is running in the news back home for this guy?)

    (also see USA ICE and the World Cup for an obvious example)

    i mean idiots go to North Korea and now the USA still

    and yea i don’t care about reddit or whatever hang up you have over it

    i seek advice - there are those who see Earth - the planet - as their house.
    It is rather difficult to argue that it isn't, especially when they do genuinely believe. [Edit]

    i agree kinda, i think you make a good point.

    but the earth is home to everyone else too, cultural differences are real, and should be respected. im not trying to say jailtime is a fit punishment (i dont think it is for most crimes), however, one should be respectful of places they are not from.
