[question] if workers own the means of production, then how do new companies get made? (feddit.org)

i'm trying to learn here, this is an honest question.

some people say that "workers should own the means of production" (in other words, the company). if you agree with this view, then i have a question: how do new companies get made? i.e. if you aren't already employed somewhere, you will maybe look for work. and if all companies already have enough workers, then where do you work? how does a new company come into existence? (who provides the startup resources and who takes the risk if the company fails and the startup resources cannot be recovered?)

eh i'm not sure whether this could gather enough resources. for a lot of industries, you need massive machines just to start doing anything. like, basically all heavy industry, construction jobs (consider modern cranes are often 100m high), anything more complicated than what you could do in a village.

    Dude , if enough experts and construction workers come , together get outta here with worrying about cranes, we could build a bridge that connects us to GOD.... Yes... to God....I dont even know if God or the gods exists but I we somehow build a conmection to them one day, I wouldnt even be surprised.

    All you need is enough people to come together to agree that something meeds to be built and researched....and....boom! Enough time and effort and .... we've got it.

    WE can do ANYTHING , A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G, if enougj people come together and agree it must be done.

    Heck look at the Periodic Table. How in the fuck did we come up with WAYS TO MEASURE THE MASS OF FUCKING ATOMS!? Amd then....WE MADE A FUCKING TABLE AND DETERMINED WHICH OF THESE ELEMENTS ARE SIMILAR!? How did we do that?!

    Heck bro, we even know which elements are vital for life , even human life, and which will kill a biotic creature in a matter oof moments!

    That was an international, intermillenial effort that took many, MANY people cominng together over numerous millenia.

    Do you really think ANYTHING shortt of a massive quasar coming straight at Earth at nearr light speeds can stall humanity when we come together and think that a new company or new governmental organization NEEDS to be made?!.... Pft!

    This is why we have the disgusting capitalistic societies we havve today. BILLIONS of people have come together and have agreed that they want capitalism, they want never ending genocide in Palestine and Sudan, they want a rabid american government that starts numerous wars and genocides without repurcussion, they want eternal Unequal Exchange, they want a system where those who work the least are rewarded the most and vice versa. THATS why are capitalistic society of today has existed for centuries and continues to exist.
