And capitalism hasn’t failed at learning lessons?
Unlike capitalists, Marxists critically analyze their own past attempts and plan adjustments. We’ve seen this take place in China and other countries that have incorporated market-style elements into their societies to increase industrialization and production.
In fact this is perfectly in line with Marxism’s suggestion of a 10-point plan to gradually subjugate capital to the will of workers. A transitional phase where capital increasingly falls under worker control is socialist in nature.
Socialism will find a way to remain democratic, preserve human rights and continue to drive innovation. Because it is an evolving, scientific approach to a more just society.
Capitalists always make the same mistake. While we regulate things like violence and rape, capitalists refuse to regulate human greed, which is the root of all evil. The goal of capitalism will always be to make the black line of profit trend upwards for the ruling class, regardless of human cost.

For fucks sake, I'm saying that the government should hold the means of production, not unions like what was suggested.
That is communism, I'm literally saying we should do communism
I'm just saying if we don't do it right, it's not going to solve anything and we'll end up exactly where we are today, with all the problems and all the wealth inequality.
Point taken. I would prefer a government body representative of workers should collectively have power over the means production, over anything else. It seems we’re on the same page about communism being the eventual goal. I misinterpreted your comments to be supportive of the status quo, as I didn’t know what frame you were arguing from.
Sorry if I came off as antagonistic to your point. I still remain sad about where unions have ended up, and I think it critical to win them back. To your point, not to give them control, but to once again bring them back to their rightful orientation.
Which comes full circle to the headline...
The solution isnt giving union leaders more power.
The solution is electing decent politicians who know what life is like for average Americans.
Something that we've made huge strides to in the last year and a half.
What needs to happen, is happening.
If a progressive becomes president in 2029, and we've got the best shot since FDR, then they name the new DNC chair.
Literally the only thing that can stop us, is if people get tricked into not supporting the Dem party right now. Because if a Dem doesn't win the next presidential, that means the ~420 voting members of the DNC get to pick again.
There's a slim chance they go back to neoliberalism again, and then we're fucked and really need a third party again.
So we need to make sure we don't even give them a chance, we need to get a progressive in the White House while we can.
Well, this is assuming we’re not facing massive voter suppression and tampering in November. Which at that point, we need to organize into a scorched earth movement of general strikes, to bring the oligarchs to their knees.
I don’t want to say too much about that would look like here.
