There's plenty of ways to get around this crap, but there's vanishingly little on the platform worth watching.

At some point, why bother with the Slop Website to begin with?

but there’s vanishingly little on the platform worth watching.

Incorrect. YouTube has a massive library of special interest videos and very high value channels- but like every other platform their algorithm just fucking sucks at promoting them over other mindless bait videos.

A video or channel you can't find might as well not exists.

Even past that, I've seen my fair share of quality channels die out or sell out or otherwise go sour.

Idk...I've found throughout the years that there are increasingly greater and greater amounts of long-form content available on YouTube to watch. Of late, I've watched some Louis Theroux documentaries, some documentaries on abandoned facilities, and some real A&E and ambulance emergency shows. There is a ton of interesting content on there if you look for it. I guess I just find the number of streaming services to be too staggering to bother with. So I go with free alternatives like YouTube with an ad blocker and things like PlutoTV and tubi.
