I don't think that's a very good idea because there's a penalty for underpaying your federal taxes or paying them late: https://www.irs.gov/payments/underpayment-of-estimated-tax-by-individuals-penalty

    Yes, unfortunately it's pretty difficult to beat or escape the IRS.

    You're welcome. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. One thing you may want to look into is how much the penalty is. Depending on the amount, I suppose it's possible that you could come out ahead with the interest.
