Yup. Between Project Hail Mary, Obsession, The Odyssey, and this, it's becoming clear that people are wanting to go to theaters more. My friend group has also started going to the cinema more this year. There was a massive drop in interest since covid but I think we're finally bouncing back.

    Also, if you look at what these movies have in common, it's something studios refuse to unterstand for decades now. There is no superhero fatigue, or moviestar fatigue or blockbuster fatigue. People just want to watch movies that are good, made with genuine care, compassion and craft. In other words, movies not content. Which is also why I can't imagine AI slop movies ever being really successful.

    I think the vibe of audience's returning to cinema might also have a bit to do with the writer's strike offering a break from content churn we all became exhausted with, especially in Marvel. The strike pushed the pipeline back and now we're getting some really great stuff again
