If it is, which client should one be using?
[–] noisypine@infosec.pub 4 points 3 years ago (3 children) I use it, but due to it being more cumbersome, I go to IRC first. If I can't find it on IRC, I can usually get it from DC++. permalink fedilink source hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] highduc@lemmy.ml 1 point 3 years ago (1 child) Not sure if joking or...? You're joking, right? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] jayandp@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 years ago There are IRC/XDCC search engines. I don't know their exact method of scraping IRC servers, but they kinda work. Also, if you know the right servers and channels, most have some kind of search index or bot. permalink fedilink source parent [–] noisypine@infosec.pub 1 point 3 years ago Not joking. There are sites like sunxdcc for searching from the web, and otherwise, !s in chats to search. Works great, honestly. permalink fedilink source parent [–] pirate@lemmy.fmhy.net 0 points 3 years ago (1 child) Are you using xdcc.eu or sunxdcc.com, or are you searching directly through IRC on each of your preferred servers? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] noisypine@infosec.pub 1 point 3 years ago (1 child) Little bit of both. Usually I start with sunxdcc and xdcc.eu, but if I can't find it, I search in the chats. Sometimes not all packs are listed and the search engines. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] pirate@lemmy.fmhy.net 2 points 3 years ago (1 child) Thanks for the answer. That's mostly been my strategy as well. Sunxdcc has some stuff indexed that xdcc.eu is missing, it seems. Do you know of any networks/channels that are not even indexed by these sites? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] noisypine@infosec.pub 1 point 3 years ago (1 child) I don't. I would imagine ones that aren't indexed, probably aren't because they are private, but that's a guess. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] pirate@lemmy.fmhy.net 2 points 2 years ago You're probably right about that. permalink fedilink source parent
