In short:

Australia has recorded its biggest-ever quarterly surge in electric vehicle sales.

Across April, May and June, nearly one in every two vehicles sold was either electric or hybrid.

What's next?

Liberal deputy Jane Hume says the figures show EV subsidies introduced by the government in 2023 had grown "out of control".

Wow, Australia really fell for the whole "Electric Motors" leftist conspiracy didn't they?

Australians aren't stupid. If EVs and hybrids have reached a price/performance/practicality point where it makes sense to jump to them, then they will.

They don't give a crap about people who carry on about woke leftist conspiracy agendas or whatever, especially when the bulk of those people come from the country that thought that crippling oil production in the Middle East was a good idea.

If Australians are not stupid, how do you explain decades of (pro fossil fuel) duopoly, instead of democracy?

    Because it has economic sense.
