Posadas just straight up making shit up lmao.

I wonder what made him say that. Iirc he was a trot but sort of made a cult and fell out of favor with the international trot community (so they split like trots do), but regardless had a negative view of the Soviet Union on trot lines, so I don't think he was lying to make the SU look more impressive, I think it was an honest mistake, but what particularly produced the mistake?

By the way, which Saito text has that? A long time ago I found out that an old Russian crank wrote about Marxist thermodynamics and published it online, but I looked at the text and the small bits I understood skimming it made sense, but most of it I just couldn't understand.

I remember this guy, he was trying to reach the same conclusions of thermodynamics through dialectics. Kind of weird crank stuff, didn't add anything new to either Marxism or thermodynamics AFAIK.

The Saito text that mentions thermodynamics and Marx's thoughts on classical thermodynamics and the political economy of energy and planetary metabolism was "Karl Marx's ecosocialism", which deals with late Marx's reflections and the unpublished 3rd volume of Capital.

Regarding Posadas writing weird stuff about the SU it's likely that some kind of distorted version of scientific news from the SU got repeated so much that he actually read "Soviets discover rays faster than light", when it was some theoretical or particle physics report that didn't do anything like that. The article was written during the peak of soviet secrecy and paranoia so unfounded rumors must've been all over the place
