Me wanting to recommend a great anime, but remembering the only fan service is in the first episode:

I remember trying out the manga a long time ago but noped out in the first chapter where the female character almost got raped and it all got portrayed as comedy. If that's the author's hook I have no hope or expectations for the rest of the series.

Yeah it's the same in the anime. Strapped to a chair, spread eagle with sexy lingerie on while the aliens whip out weird mechanical dicks and say they need to impregnate her.

Then the scene plays absolutely no role in at least the next two seasons.

Was it played as comedy in the anime? Definitely felt like a heavy moment, more horror than comedy for sure. Absurd horror at most. Same with the gators in the hot spring. Maybe the tone is different in the manga?
