Wouldn't it be more helpful for a medical provider/doctor to know what you were born as? As that might contribute to certain health factors of your life? Sometimes it's hard to navigate conversations like this because it does seem like "biologically male/female" is a useful term in a medical setting. Add that on top of the fact that there may be more health complications due to having transitioned, I can't see why that term would be coined "bad" except when used purposefully as an insult, which as somebody said above, is the same situation with the word gay/queer/etc.
