You have my attention... but with Meshcore and a repeater magnet mounted to the roof.
What's a repeater magnet?
Meshcore uses a Repeater & Companion Node setup where as Meshtastic is more peer to peer.

The magnet is the antenna mount type, but I personally would use one of the roof rack screw points, to act as structure and a ground plane connection.
