It's a soldering iron. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] erebion@news.erebion.eu 2 points 1 month ago (1 child) Yeah, but it's an excellent soldering iron and if it works there's no need to update. There's no security risk. It does not connect to te internet. The Pinephone was great for getting some mobile Linux projects back on track, but it's not something that can actually be a decent phone. The Pinecil seems to be their best quality product, weirdly. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 child) There very much is a security risk with the pincel since it uses bluetooth. Lessened since it isn't classic IOT bs, but still important to make sure it has its security updates. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] erebion@news.erebion.eu 1 point 1 month ago Oh, Pinecil v2 has Bluetooth. Weird. Anyway, for those that don't have the new model, it does not matter. And I'm pretty sure for the v2 it is not necessary to have it on. The Pinecil works fine without it already. permalink fedilink source parent [–] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 2 points 1 month ago PineTime is also great. permalink fedilink source parent
