Why should I have to pull off the DHL stickers of my cart board boxes before I throw it into the trash???

[-] barnacul@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

Because then anyone who is able to come to your house can just find your address for free

If they come to my house they will be at my address and if they look at the doorbell panel they will have my name with first initial... Why go through the trash for that??

Sheesh good thing then there is no panel with neatly arranged clear names written on it next to the door or something.

Because ppl go through trash to find useful data which they can use to steal your identity.

If you consider yourself careless in regards to your privacy, you should probably presume to already have a criminal record to your name in countries you've never visited.

Paranoid shizophrenia is one hell of a drug

You don't need an actual adress for that. If something has adress verification, you'd also need to camp the mailbox. At which point you don't need the name beyond what is available at said mailbox anyway. And just getting full names of real people with a general area of living is far easier online.
