And you accused me of being without hope LOL.
We are transitioning to EVs, increasing the power grid. This isn't a fantasy world where we can snap out fingers and oil dependency is instantly gone. We have made a lot of progress in reducing fossil fuels. Peak fossil fuel in regards to electricity generation was last year, for transportation it will be in the next few year.
The US is obviously stupid about this, but we are finally moving forward on the Pathways project, which will decrease CO2 emissions from the oil industry. Depending on how that works we could use it to eventually become carbon negative to offset what the dumbasses to the south of us are doing.
Sorry to be the one to break this to you, but a systems of 100% socialism failed. Badly. In the real world we understand that a system that's a mix of socialism and capitalism works best. Which is what we have. Our healthcare is socialist because there's weird incentives in capitalism when someone's life is on the line. So we don't use capitalism for that. But we know socialism across the board doesn't work either, so we use capitalism where it works. The Government initiates major projects to direct businesses to do what's in the country's interest.
We have a lot of protections for unions in Canada. If you want to form a union, convince your fellow employees, and you have a union. Union busting is illegal in Canada. What do you want the government do everything for you and impose unions onto everyone? It would be insane to have government mandated unions. So if you want a union, then get to work. If you're too lazy to form a union, then that's on you.
You need to work to make the world better, not just sit around posting on the internet nitpicking the people actually doing the work. You can reduce your carbon emissions. You can form a union. You can volunteer your time for charities. You can change the things you buy so you're not buying from the US.
Understand that the internet will tell you about some false ideal world based around failed ideologies of the past, tell you everything is currently terrible, and assign blame on someone for that. Many times it's an ethnic group that the internet will try to blame for that dissent that it made you feel. But whoever you blame for the fact that we don't use failed ideologies (because we want to make things better, not worse) you're spending all of your time assigning blame and not doing anything to actually make things better. Radical right, radical left, it's the same story. The right want a tariff based oligarchy which failed in the past. Leftists want a socialist system that failed in the past. It's all about creating dissent and disenfranchisement over bad ideas not being implemented.
The people actually trying to make a better world get attacked from both sides, by who do nothing other than attack others.
