This is tongue in cheek, right? People commonly talk like this though, and it always drives me bugshit because it's so easy and tempting to reify chaos as a personal adversary. There are conspiracies, but they are many and have definite, limited aims. And they aren't all related to each other. Sometimes it can feel that way because so many rich people have the same means and motivations, but they're not a vast conspiracy with total cohesive aims.
