EU imports of Russian pipeline gas increased 7% year-on-year in January to May 2026, while Russian LNG imports rose by 11%, according to the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators.

Apparently they are frontloading the deliveries before the ban next year. Still a disgrace that EU countries are importing Russian LNG and gas while they are attacking Ukraine and threatening EU.

Where else will they buy LNG? USA?

The North Sea is the best option if that is possible. Otherwise USA and Middle East are the two large producers except for Russia. Since they have had several years to prepare for LNG reduction from Russia the best would have been to reduce the need for LNG.
