It was just a simple place where people could post their own open source projects.. but apparently Reddit hates Open Source

    That's why we are all here, once reddit wanted to monetize the data and increase profit it all turned to shit. Its not a freely open forum anylonger

    Yeah it makes sense now. I think the reason for the ban is that they want people to circle jerk on their own platform. So they don't want links to outside domains, which is what my subreddit did.

    it's crazy that after the mod purge you're just now realizing they can do that.

    everyone who would care was purged years ago.

    fair point.. but unfortunately many communities i follow are only on reddit.. the alternatives are just not big enough also.. i think this monopoly can only be broken with government funding.. i can't think of any other solution
