It's brilliantly shot, and the way they portray the dynamic of a gaslight and downtrodden wife versus the bumbling manchild husband that you see in shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons is a brilliant critique of the dominant male and the societal currents that support it.

Hell, the way that the husband absorbs the contradictions arising from their relationship into reinforcing this dynamic is very reflective of how neoliberalism absorbs and co-opts its contradictions and used fascism to close ranks when under threat.

spoilers: have you actually finished both seasons?

We never get to see Kevin in the gritty format since it's his show

we do get one or 2 gritty scenes with Kevin/Neil near the end
