MODERATORS
Had to do this when the air temp was ~10°c. Luckily we were able to do it in Norfolk, which meant the water was above freezing.
Those cables are heavy as fuck and we had to wrap the ship by hand.
How do you pass the cable underneath the ship? Also do you need a special base or can it be done anywhere?
Divers, barges, winches, people. It takes days, it takes up a bit of space and you need specialized equipment and space for safety.
The only places I know it's done have a shipyard for support. And I haven't heard of civilian ships doing this either.
Damn, sounds like an expensive affair
