I have this lady to thank for finally teaching me what cultural appropriation is. Like I knew what it was intellectually, but she actually showed me the visceral reality of it on an emotional level. She posted a video once of her showing off what she claimed was "traditional Israeli cuisine." And it was things like hummus and tabbouleh, which are more general Levant/Mediterranean cuisine and not specific to Israel. In fact they predate the formation of the zionist entity entirely.
And in that moment I finally got it. Zionism isn't content to stealing lives and land, they even steal food.
