It's not actually as surprising as you think. The liberal thought process on any political discussion starts and ends with "does this hurt* Trump?"

what are you talking about. How could you not see this as iran winning? They got de facto control of one of the most important shipping lanes for oil and computer chips AND (potentially) 300 billion USD to rebuild.

they lost lives and infrastructure, true. but they discovered a weakness in the American military we haven't seen since vietnam and exploited the fuck out of it.

But most liberals aren't thinking about that. We're talking about the editing of some words on Wikipedia, not the actual event. Liberals love gotchas and they don't think about the actual actions. That was the point of my comment.
