Is there no sympathy left in this country for the rest of us?

We are sun lovers (myself excluded). Hot holiday destinations are popular, for example. I've just never been able to handle anything above 17-19 degrees Celsius.

Our homes are designed for the cold climate, so they tend to (ideally) retain heat - which is becoming a problem as temps rise. No A/C here. I do have fans, but I think I'll have to look into an actual air conditioner for just one room and camp out there on the days this happens. It's going to get worse.

That's our winter temperature, I would be putting on a sweater at 17!

And yeah I'm sure it's mostly that we become adapted to where we grow up. It IS hotter here than it used to be, too. Not so much the winters, which have often (not always) been mild historically and the cold snaps are sometimes colder than they used to be too. Double-tap freeze this year killed my newly planted garden. Yuck.

Ouch - sorry to hear about the garden, that does sound pretty devastating.

On the row of several houses I live on, the men all seem to be struggling with the indoor heat while the women are loving it. Not exactly a decent sample size but surprising!
