French President Emmanuel Macron says he will not remain in politics after leaving the Élysée Palace in 2027, once his maximum two terms are over.

Because he cannot stay as president a third term, so he's trying to look like it was his choice.

There are other political positions he could hold. He is claiming he wont pursue any of those positions. Nothing to do about running a third term.
