We would like to put that wealth to productive use through taxation and government investments, but setting it on fire (metaphorically) would still leave the average person better off. If we can't tax it or destroy it, then people will be pushed further and further until they have nothing to lose, and after that, things will get ugly. permalink fedilink source parent [+] username_1@programming.dev -28 points 4 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (4 children) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 67 points 4 months ago (1 child) Luigi has entered the chat permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] username_1@programming.dev -26 points 4 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 child) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 20 points 4 months ago* (1 child) Brooother this guy is dense. Maybe it was just phrased poorly permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Johnmannesca@lemmy.world 1 point 4 months ago Yeah, killed just means they're estate gets taxed during inheritance but by that point thay're dead so it's illogical to care. Much more realistic a narcissistic personality grasps for ways to avoid any unsavory changes in wealth status vs literally dying. They aren't afraid of their life insurance policy activating, actually they might even look forward to it in a strange way. permalink fedilink source parent [–] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 20 points 4 months ago* Right up until the moment it is.
