MODERATORS
Just started replaying for the first time in years last night, very early on in the game there's a hilarious news bit buried between commercials where they talk about the Scandinavian Migrant Crisis: Swedish Military authorizes force against the hordes of refugees fleeing to northern Europe, resulting in at least 60 casualties as of reporting. The Twist? They are all Dutch refugees, the Netherlands has been completely submerged by climate change.
Truly a utopia
It’s interesting to me how Mike Pondsmith himself is a Scandi-style SocDem who portrays the Nordics predictably but doesn’t sugarcoat that bit of lore (and he was fairly hands on with 2077’s development).
On top of a fairly nuanced portrayal of the USSR, which arguably is the the lesser evil compared to the NUSA (which is firmly under Militech’s thumb up and is fucking around with the Blackwall) and the Euro Community (which is literally lobotomizing “far left extremists” rallying for public healthcare and pensions).
Original Cyberpunk 2020 had XXI century hailed as "European Century" lmao
Not wrong. The "of Humiliation" is simply implied.
