I just posted a little bit of info on your previous post but I just wanted to say that I really like how you're going about this research and the emphasis you're placing on getting it right!
If you'd be up with sharing whatever notes/resources you're able to gather up, I'd love to reference them in my own projects and to add them to the writing community's solarpunk worldbuilding wiki.
Thanks a lot for the support ! I'm glad you point it out because I've never had to do this much research for a project (also there was never a project that mattered in this extend to me), and it's really encouraging !
Yeah that would be really great if these researches that's been a bit simplified could benefit everyone. I just got my hands on a great pdf about consideration and facilities for the building's fauna in order to halt the destruction of the habitats of certain target species without compromising the energy efficiency of buildings. How do you think I should share my notes and resources to you ? i'm a bit wary of spam (that's why I don't post too much in the art community, i'm affraid of flooding it)
I totally get it! Good solarpunk needs good ideas and tracking them down can be a challenge - especially when they're split into lots of niche domains.
I'm glad you'd be up for sharing notes - we don't have a good page on pedestrianized streets in the worldbuilding wiki yet so anything we track down for this could be a great addition. I tend to focus more on rural/exurban areas so I haven't done much reading on the subject yet but I can ask around on a few communities I'm in!
I could set up a document we can paste links and notes into, maybe etherpad, cryptpad, or Google docs, whatever works for you!
yeah ! I mean eventually I'd like to have some really specific subjects/professions or certain community represented in the octasolis project and I won't be able to just... do it out of only me, because i'm just not concerned and people just live their lives and they can tell you tons of little details that really makes the environment and ambiance speak for itself haha
Ofc ! etherpad sounds great. I can just add my notes on the one you created about the Mcmansion Hell discord responses if it's ok ? Did you add your work on rural and exurban areas to the wiki too ? sounds like a fantastic source for inspiration !
Yes please feel free to add to the same etherpad doc!
And my notes on exurban changes are in the wiki here: https://wiki.slrpnk.net/writing:exurbs_in_the_solarpunk_transition
Not to deluge you with info but here's what folks in the Mcmansion Hell discord said when I shared this post:
