There is only a single rule Chomsky had to follow to get his platform, just like all the other imperialist socialists of his ilk: decry the USSR and China as evil authoritarians no better or even worse than the US. Gabriel Rockhill laid out very clearly that this is the line. They don't care who you vote for. They need you to think an alternative is impossible because socialism in practice is worse than capitalism. Chomsky has never wavered.

Hasan says China has an outright superior economic and democratic system. He says the collapse of the USSR was the worst tragedy of the 20th century. He is breaking the fundamental rule. He would never get institutional support unless the deep state has abandoned its most important single principle.
