Spoiler warning!At the beginning of the show, yes it "disappeared". Later in the seasons we find out that Babylon 4 was stolen by the good guys and taken back in time to use as weapon in the first shadow war. If memory serves, this is also when Sinclair comes back into the show for a cameo.
