They keep changing the headlines every like 15 minutes, it's horrendous. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] HowRu68@lemmy.world 13 points 5 months ago (1 child) They keep changing the headlines every like 15 minutes, it's horrendous. Unfortunately, a lot of other websites keep doing it . And not only for marked "live" updates. Sometimes they include the revisions, but nowadays they don't even show that. Only way to handle this is (for OP) to check regularly the titles of your posted articles, especially when they are only a couple mins old . Its a bother. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Eezyville@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 months ago (1 child) Sounds like a problem automation can fix. Maybe a bot that periodically check the source material's headline and revise the headline on Lemmy while keeping a history of changes. Might have it check the headline for a day so that it's not checking the same post forever. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] silicon@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago Yep, a check box so OP can consent to the bot doing it wouldn't be a bad idea. permalink fedilink source parent [–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago (4 children) It's a serious problem with anything marked "Live Coverage!" too. Every update changes the headline. Which is why I always give OPs a chance to fix it. When I post one myself, I'm re-checking it every time I go in to read new comments. The only thing really forbidden are headlines that are obviously editorialized. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 6 points 5 months ago Sounds fair, its insane news articles read like Twitter feeds these days. permalink fedilink source parent [–] ieGod@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 months ago Doesn't seem fair to put that onus on the user. permalink fedilink source parent [–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 5 points 5 months ago Least we can change post titles here. permalink fedilink source parent [–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago Live coverage this Saturday afternoon as user Daychilde replies to your comment!
