So, what happens when a lemmy server goes down ungracefully (so unlike lemm.ee that made a proper shutdown and closed most communities), the communities stay as a localized version on each server it had connected to, at least last I checked. You can post and will see posts from users on lemmy.world but no one on any other server can see your posts, because the community server was supposed to distribute them. So it becomes more like an archive.
It's also hosted behind cloud flare who will present cached pages if the source host is offline. So web visits still might show stuff until the cache expires.
Addendum: Yes we know that you think ml/hexbear/grad are tankies and or .world are a bunch of liberals but it gets old quickly. Try and come up with new material.
