This is about the voter base. Most people who support guns and are anti regulation are Trump voters. https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2024/06/06/gun-attitudes-and-the-2024-election/

Thing is, that base puts the 2nd Amendment before ANYTHING else. If it turns out Trump wants to take away their firearms, tey'll turn on him in a millisecond.

When I have to talk to the MAGA gun owners that I deal with, I bring the conversations around to the fact that Trump came out of New York City and he was raised in a political value system of gun restrictions.. He just said all the right things he needed to - he lied, like he alwatys does - to get the hunters and shooters to vote for him, but really, he is NOT for the 2nd Amendment.. Now.. they're starting to see it and take it as gospel.

Trump got elected playing to the white fear of a minority takeover of the United States..

I choose to play to their BIGGER fear, and that is of losing their gun rights.
