Didn't we used to have to sign the receipt that the store keeps, and they give us a copy to keep for our records?Or an e-signature on an electronic device. Is this still a thing? Or do I just not get out much lately?

Maybe it's just a restaurant thing. I literally haven't been to a restaurant since 2023.

Do you not have chip and pin or contactless where you are?

In any case the average cashier isn't really going to bother checking too hard to make sure two scribbles look the same.

It was always archaic nonsense.
