Its basically the break glass in case of emergency option (but so is Medieval 3)

Like if they deliver on Total Warhammer 40k its gonna make them a fuckton of money.

sega forced them to make a terrible live service shooter that was incredibly expensive and got cancelled so you're not wrong

They also shut down support for their most recent historical title and released all of that planned DLC as a free update in a last ditch effort to make game copy sales. To say nothing of Hyenas.

They already have the established relationship with GW, and Old World is rapidly gaining on 40k in the internal competition GW has between their settings so 40k needs Juice outside of the boring ass ultramarines release for tabletop in the 500 worlds announcement.* There's no way it isn't Total War: 40k

*Edit for the 40k nerds: Votann is pretty cool, forgot about them
