    lol they would immediately start infighting over latin masses/creationism/council of nicea, og catholics and heretical evangelicals and implode into another sect of protestants.

    I feel like an American Papacy would deliberately rewrite doctrine to be able to get along with Evangelicals better, even if it still officially viewed Evangelicalism as heresy. "But then what about existing Catholics and their beliefs?" Papal infallibility, ig.
