Didn't we used to have to sign the receipt that the store keeps, and they give us a copy to keep for our records?Or an e-signature on an electronic device. Is this still a thing? Or do I just not get out much lately?

Maybe it's just a restaurant thing. I literally haven't been to a restaurant since 2023.

Canada had moved over to chip reader machines by 2012. Now that tap payments are common, I don't even have to enter my PIN under a certain amount. I haven't signed for a credit card transaction for over 10 years.
