Didn't we used to have to sign the receipt that the store keeps, and they give us a copy to keep for our records?Or an e-signature on an electronic device. Is this still a thing? Or do I just not get out much lately?

Maybe it's just a restaurant thing. I literally haven't been to a restaurant since 2023.

Depends where you are.

I still have to in most medical contexts, but retail doesn’t seem to really require it anymore below a hefty amount (like >$1k) but I’m in the US, so that may be part of it.
