    It's probably more important if Putin the actual person is actually Asian or not. And he isn't lol he is of Russian ethnicity and born in Europe to Russian parents who were also born in Europe.

    Through conquest and colonial exploits though. That's like saying Macron is South American because French Guiana exists. Putin was born and raised in St Petersburg; a historically Finnic territory if anything

    Russia the country is both in Asia and Europe, that makes someone of Russian ethnicity born in Europe to Russian parents an Asian

    Russians are an East Slavic ethnic group native to Eastern Europe. Their mother tongue is Russian, the most spoken Slavic language. The majority of Russians adhere to Orthodox Christianity, ever since the Middle Ages. By total numbers, they compose the largest Slavic and European nation.

    Closest you can get is calling him "Eurasian" I guess

    Russia is a European country at its core controlling a vast portion of Asia through invasion and colonial exploits. France is also located in the Pacific, North America, South America, Africa, but no one would claim that it's not a European nation.

    Please do tell me how Russia, as the direct successor state of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union - having exploited, resettled, and genocided millions of people from hundreds of different ethnicities - should NOT be consider a colonial state. You think Slavs are native to Sakhalin or something?
