I am Canadian. I worked as a medic in Canada when 9-11 happened. I volunteered and left my home, family, friends and my job to come to NY to help my fellow man. I felt it was important. EMS then was a pretty small community when you got into higher skill levels so I personally knew some of the FF's killed that day and many associated with them as well. I was there for a month with a team of fellow Canadians pulling out body parts of your countrymen.

I watched your people rant and rave and run around screaming to kill the terrorists. I watched your president openly lie to the people to get them into this state and declare war over fantasies and money. Our team was told to fuck off and go home when we objected or questioned at all or in any way. After our month was up we did. I personally haven't crossed the border since and never would again after the treatment we received for trying to help.

We worked with people from all walks of life, all backgrounds on that site. All were screaming for blood without even looking at the facts. No one stood up and said it was not ok. No one attempted to stop it. They all screamed about bombs that never even existed and there was plenty of information available to be informed correctly.

The same is happening again except now it's at home. You're waiting for people who don't care about you to stand up for you while they openly and brazenly lie to you. Until you realize no one is going to do it for you you're fucked.

You're right about one thing. There will be no changing someone's mind and for the most part I could care less what happens to you as Americans after my experiences there. You can Thank your Fellow Americans for that. If I did care I would suggest you would organise but every time I or anyone else does, we get told you'll just be mowed down in a hail of bullets and to "fuck off" because we are idiots. Familiar. Yet defeating a dictator most often takes risking one's life. In fact there are very very few instances of it happening any other way.

All this however doesn't make it less shocking that one of the most brazen, murderous, war mongering and heavily armed populations in the world is so fucking docile and subservient to their masters that they cringe at the thought of fighting for themselves and their neighbors.
