Yeah it's a bug because we had the emoji before we had picture embeds, so our emojis work like emojis for us but like pictures for everyone else.

Is that the current issue? Is there a module for auto generating different image resolution sizes? Maybe I'll do some research later.

Oh right. I wonder what problem that was a solution for.
it was how they got emotes added to upstream lemmy. we had a bespoke implementation before.
