I just went to my first union meeting. It was on a thursday morning so there were a lot of retirees. But there were some younger people. I was very nervous since it was my first time and I didn't know anybody. But eventually I could connect to some people.
Did you like what was discussed? I have no idea of the ideological framework of FNV and I always wondered how radical things are over there.
It was a small meeting for Worker Memorial Day, and a lunch afterwards. There was not much discussion on their ideology but one person did call herself leftist, and another person talked about discrimination women and LGBT people face in Amsterdam, and others were in agreement about what was said. I heard nothing bad.
IWW? Independent union? AFL-CIO union?
FNV. The Dutch federation of unions

Take care, comrade.
It's not easy doing actual activism and praxis, but depending on the work you're doing, it's rewarding, and you learn a lot.
